Test Method Summary
The JASO M340:1992 specification test evaluates the lubricity of lubricating oils, used in 2-stroke gasoline engines, such as motorcycle engines, utility engines and outboard motors.

Test Fuel
Mixed fuel with a mixing ratio of 50:1
Test conditions
Plug gasket temperature is forcibly raised at 4000 rpm, under full load operating conditions, by shutting off cooling air.
Evaluating method : The decrease in output shaft torque whilst the plug gasket temperature is raised from 200 to 300oC is measured and relatively compared
Test order : The test is performed in the following order ; the standard reference oil, a candidate oil, and the standard reference oil - on the same day in order to prevent errors from environmental factors, such as, atmospheric change etc..
